On Tuesday, August 15, a letter led by Representatives Eshoo (D-CA-16) and Burgess (R-TX-26) was sent to Administrator Brooks-LaSure of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services expressing concern regarding a March 2023 Medicare billing change which restricted access to non-invasive post-transplant testing for some organ recipients.

A majority of patients (98%) believe that it is important to have Medicare coverage for non-invasive tests to routinely monitor transplant rejection.
